Tips & ideas from a Roanoke, VA wedding planner coordinating a micro wedding in Lynchburg, VA.

Choosing the Perfect Micro Wedding Venue

Olivia & Jake couldn’t have picked a more beautiful location or asked for better weather! With a guestlist of only 30, they were able to celebrate their marriage out in nature while being surrounded by their closest loved ones. With a majority of their guests being from out of state, they wanted to make sure the location they chose was able to accommodate a majority of their family and wedding party to spend the weekend together.

Unique Touches

My favorite part of this wedding was how each aspect was a reflection of the couple - from getting married by Jake’s childhood youth pastor, to skipping the traditional wedding cake and opting for a gourmet cheesecake instead, they were very intentional about making the day their own.

A couple fun facts:

  • Being outdoors, one of the biggest challenges we had to overcome were the bugs! We opted for Thermacell mosquito devices to keep them at bay throughout the day, and I have to say they worked better than I expected!

  • They had a post-dinner coffee and espresso bar to keep everyone up and partying throughout the evening. Guests were even able to take home an individual serving of coffee as their favor.

  • They had access to the full flower farm and were able to explore and take photos on different parts of the property.
